At Cathedral Preschool the joy of learning and being loved is evident in each child’s smile. Since 1986, Cathedral Preschool has been providing private, yet affordable early childhood education to 3, 4, and 5 year old children in a warm and inviting environment. Under the ministry of St. Stephen Cathedral, the preschool provides a Christ-centered atmosphere appropriate for children of all faith traditions.

The teachers at Cathedral are exceptionally dedicated early childhood specialists. Lead teachers and assistants are involved in continuing education at local, state and national levels. Continuity in teaching is maintained by the teaching staff with many years of service. All staff is certified in CPR and first aid.

The curriculum is designed to be developmentally appropriate for the inquisitive and forming minds of the 3, 4, and 5 year old child. Basic preschool skills are introduced through thematic units and group discussions. Socialization and understanding are found throughout the classroom in play and learning situations.

Small classes with a low teacher/child ratio help teachers to maintain direct interaction with the children. The teacher/child ratio in the class for the 3 year old child is 1 to 6, in the classes for 4 and 5 year olds, the ratio is 1 to 8.

Children learn the joy of loving and giving firsthand through a weekly faith enrichment program that promotes biblical principles. Charity projects that put faith into action are prepared by the children and parent volunteers each Christmas and Easter. Enrichment and broadening experiences are offered to the 4 year old through field trips.

Discipline is handled by gentle, respectful guidance in a calm and reasonable manner. Parent’s insight and suggestions are welcomed and support the staff. Conferences are held on a semester basis or whenever the parents or teachers feel they are needed. Hearing, speech, and vision screenings are provided by professionals for early intervention.

Enrollment & Tuition

Cathedral Preschool meets Monday through Friday in both morning and afternoon sessions. The morning session is from 8 a.m. to 10:50 a.m.; the afternoon session is from 11:30 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.

Classes meet on a 2 day, 3 day, or 4 day weekly schedule. The child must have celebrated their pertinent birthday prior to October 1st to be eligible to attend and must have a current immunization certificate presented at the time of registration. All children must be toilet trained.

Enrollment is open for the next school year from February until the classes are filled. A $50.00 non-refundable application fee is required at the time of registration. We welcome you to call or drop in for a registration package.
